3D Characters - Modeling


I first worked on the Main Character Ellie after the 2D references were done for the character. The Initial Model was the Blue and Yellow version I had for Ellie. After some revisions, we went through a grey and yellow version until ultimately settling on the blue outfit. We wanted the main character to have a sort of Factory worker outfit which can be highlighted by the onesie-like outfit that she is wearing. I modeled these models in a t-pose so that I can do the rigging a bit easier since I usually rig in a t-pose anyways.

For this robot, we went for a humanoid version but also wanted to keep the robotic like movement which will be in a later dev log. Again, these were all based on the 2D References that were drawn by our 2D artist which can be seen in further detail in another dev log post.

The last photo is the robot companion that will be following the player around. This was based on the 2D Reference that was drawn by our 2D artist as well. For this one, we wanted something that was a simple companion with no real complexities to it. Something like 'Snowball' that Mei from Overwatch carries around.
